Timeline of Events for Future Students

Deadlines, time frames, and resources for critical financial aid events like when to apply for loans, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and when students can expect to view their financial aid packages.

    January – March

    Taxes First. FAFSA Second.

    An accurate Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) starts with completed federal taxes. We recommend importing your tax information with the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. Apply for Financial Aid.

    January – December

    Search for Scholarships

    You will automatically be considered for scholarship funds from our office when we review your FAFSA. Other money from outside sources may be available but knowing where to look is key. Remember; never pay anyone to do a scholarship search for you. Search for Scholarships.

    Your FAFSA is Due!

    Aid packaging for new students begins late-March. Have your FAFSA submitted on time for the greatest consideration! How to Apply for Financial Aid.

    Aid Packages Available for New Students

    You will receive an email in late-March when your aid summary for the 2015-16 academic year is available on eLion. If you are beginning in summer, your summer aid will be posted to your account in May. View Student Aid Summary Guide.

    Summer Aid for New Students

    If you are a new student and will be starting in summer, please complete the 2015-16 FAFSA for summer eligibility. See How to Apply for Financial Aid.

    March – August

    Accept Your Federal Direct Stafford Loans

    For your funds to disburse, you must complete Entrance Counseling and sign your Master Promissory Note.

    Deadline for State Grant for PA Residents

    Pennsylvania residents must have their FAFSAs submitted by May 1st. About the PA State Grant.

    New Student Orientation

    Respond to Verification Requests

    You may be required to verify the information on your FAFSA. Please send only requested information to our office. Learn about Verification.

    Pay Your Bill

    To complete your registration, you must pay your tuition and fees through the Bursar. Pay my bill now.

    July – August

    Apply for Loans

    If you are a dependent student, your parent can apply for a Parent PLUS Loan. The Parent PLUS request form is available on eLion. Alternative loan applications are made through private lenders’ websites. Compare Parent PLUS and Private Loans.

  • August – December

    Aug – Sep

    Get Your Refund

    If your registration is complete and there are no holds on your account, your refund will be available on the first day of classes. Visit the Bursar.
