PLUS Loan Application Available on eLion for Fall 2014

If you need additional funds to pay for your tuition bill, eligible parents of dependent students and graduate students can apply for a PLUS loan.

Apply on eLion

The Office of Student Aid is accepting Federal Direct PLUS Loan applications for the 2014-15 academic year.

Borrowers apply on eLion by selecting "PLUS Request Form" located within the "Financial" menu. Applicants can choose either the "fall 2014 semester only" or the "fall 2014/spring 2015" loan period to suit their needs.

Parents of New Students

You can apply for a Parent PLUS loan after your student attends New Student Orientation or activates his/her Penn State Access Account at a signature station.

Parents who are applying for the first time can watch videos on how to apply for the PLUS loan and how to determine the amount to borrow.

First-time borrowers need to sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) on StudentLoans.gov in order to accept the PLUS loan.

Within three to five business days, our office will receive notification that you have signed the MPN.

Approved PLUS loans with an MPN on file, will appear as a credit on the tuition bill.
