Troubleshooting Access to Your Student Aid Summary

For those having trouble accessing their Student Aid Summary in eLion.

If you are having trouble accessing your Student Aid Summary, first make sure you followed the directions as described in How to Access Your Student Aid Summary. Then, try the following solutions.

What is my Penn State ID and/or how can I find it?

Your Penn State ID is your initials followed by a set of numbers, typically four. If you can't remember or find your ID:

  1. Open the eLion login page
  2. Click on "Manage Access or FPS Account"
  3. Choose "Look up FPS user id"
  4. Enter your first name, last name, and e-mail address
  5. Click "submit"

Help, I lost my password!

If you cannot find your password:

  1. Open the eLion login page
  2. Click on "Manage Access or FPS Account"
  3. Choose "Reset FPS Password"
  4. Enter your User ID and click "submit"

What is my Penn State ID number and where can I find it?

If you do not know your nine-digit Penn State ID number (example: "987654321"), there are two ways you can find it:

  1. At the bottom of your offer of admission letter
  2. By logging into MyPennState

I'm getting error messages. Now what?

High volumes of traffic can slow servers and cause error messages. If you get an error message, try the following:

  1. Exit and close your browser
  2. Wait 10 minutes
  3. Reopen your browser
  4. Try to log in again
