Beware! New phishing attack emails are circulating.

Avoid e-mails appearing to originate from Alice Tann or Dr. Luke Shaw.

The account from which the first email is sent is alicetanpennstate@gmail.com and in her signature it states that she is a Student Aid Coordinator in the Office of Student Aid.The sender of this email is requesting that the student's parent provide bank account information and tax returns. Please do not click on any links or provide any personal information in response to this email.

The second e-mail is from Dr. Luke Shaw and states that he is looking for a personal assistant to run brief errands for him on campus, and that the assistant will be paid. He claims to have received the students’ information from the office of work study on campus, and he asks the students to give him their names, address, cell phone number, and personal email.  Finally, it says he will not be available for in person interviews and that the position will start in late September when he returns from a conference in Australia.

More information about phishing attacks is available at https://security.psu.edu/phishing/ .  There is an email address at the bottom of the site for reporting phishing attacks should you receive a suspicious email.
