Penn State's Costs

A college education will be one of the most important investments you make. Both the quality and cost of a college education is important. Penn State offers a high-quality education—a sound investment in your future.

We offer two planning tools that will assist your family in estimating the costs and payments/financial aid that you will need to cover your Penn State expenses.

  1. The College Cost Calculator provides an estimate of the costs associated with attending Penn State as an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student for the current academic year. Please use this calculator for planning purposes only, as the Board of Trustees sets current costs in July every year. Penn State continues to make every effort to keep the cost of attendance reasonable.
  2. The Net Price Calculator is intended for undergraduate, first year, full time, domestic students only. The calculator is designed to estimate cost of attendance and financial aid eligibility based on the information that you provide.

You may also want to review Understanding your Financial Aid Budget to help you understand the estimated costs listed on the Financial Aid Offer. The guide explains the total estimated financial aid versus the total estimated costs and how to plan to pay the difference.
